Developing an awareness of the things that distract us from allowing prayer to give us Life cannot happen apart from His intimate involvement with all of our heart.
Just like “prayer” is the evidence we’ve engaged our will. “Being about or consumed with” our Father’s Business is what empowers us to take dominion over all distractions, attractions and enticements that cater to our flesh.
- They felt it was their responsibility to have a scriptural answer for every question and situation.
- Do you ever feel like you have to a Bible answer for everyone? Why not give an unction from the Spirit as He speaks?
- Having a bible answer to assist others in navigating through life and its circumstances isn’t how Jesus operated. He does commands us to baptize and make disciples, however, making disciples simple means encouraging others to …have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying and understand He’s inviting them to engage with Him in His mission
- It wasn’t as important to know that Nicolas’s doctrine had filtrated into your heart as it was to know there was a void of hearing the Spirit. Hearing the Spirit and understanding His instruction to follow was the only way to neutralize the lies and doctrines of pride and compromise.
- Nicolas enjoyed having control over those who followed him and he strengthened his control over them by promoting compromise.
- What are the deeds and the doctrine of the Nicolaitans? Nicolas followed the same teaching of Balaam, to trip up the people and encourage compromise. Things like eating food offered to idols, committing sexual sin and allowing pagan practices into flock.
