In a military context, “attention” is a command given by a superior officer to personnel to bring them to a state of readiness or alertness. When a superior officer gives the command “Attention!”, it is typically expected that all individuals in the vicinity will immediately stop what they are doing, stand up straight, and pay close and focused attention to the officer or to the task at hand.

The command “Attention!” is a fundamental part of military protocol and discipline. It is used to ensure that individuals are alert, responsive, and ready to receive further instructions or orders. This command is often used in formations, ceremonies, drills, and other situations where discipline, order, and precision are required.
Jesus desires our ATTENTION. Humanity wants to SEE Him; His TRUTH requires that we believe and demonstrate Faith in Him without seeing.

In other words, our attention to be alert, responsive and ready to receive gives us the faith to mountains and at that point we can see!

Jeremiah 39:18 “…your life shall be as a prize to you”

Regardless of our idea of good verses evil. Regardless of what our personal self evaluation may be, we are going to receive what we don’t deserve.
• Everyday in every passing moment we’re receiving what we truly don’t deserve! We’re all making decisions that aren’t exactly God decisions. Even when we miss the mark, He’s still unconditional in His love for us.
• Regardless of how our choices in life shape us and imprison us, Jesus is faithful and just. 1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭NIV “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Chief Master Sergeant Greg Butcher demonstrated eloquently last weekend the importance of maintaining a courteous awareness of the potential directives and orders coming in from those who serve us as leaders.

What has my attention is what I love!
• If Jesus doesn’t have my attention, I cannot say I love him

3 KEYS TO MAINTAIN OUR ATTENTION ON JESUS:
1. Be Alert, “your adversary wants to devour you!”
2. Be Responsive, “be quick to listen!”
3. Be Ready, “Who is in charge, you are Jesus?”

EVERYONE GETS WHAT THEY DON’T DESERVE!
