Psalms 89:7 (NKJV)
God’s tangible presence is welcomed where His people slow down, honor Him as holy, and give Him the reverence and attention He deserves.
Most misunderstand the fear of God. They think fear means dread or distance. But holy fear is not something that drives us away from God—it draws us near. It creates confidence, protection, and a deep awareness of His greatness and presence.
Scripture reveals that God is everywhere at all times. His presence fills heaven and earth. But there is also what Scripture reveals as His manifest presence—those moments when God makes Himself known in a tangible, personal way. We sense His nearness, His peace, His conviction, His love, or His power.
What invites that kind of presence of the Holy Spirit? Reverence. Psalm 89 says …God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of his saints (among his people). In other words, God’s tangible presence is welcomed in an atmosphere where He is honored, respected, and treasured.
Too often, we can become casual in our association with His holy presence. We may rush into prayer distracted, treat worship lightly, ignore God’s Voice, or assemble with the Body of Christ with our minds everywhere else. Yet if an important leader or celebrity entered the room, we at once give our full attention. How much more should we honor the King of Kings than those whom we put on a pedestal because of their gifting?
Reverence is not about acting religious—it is about recognizing Who is present. When we slow down, humble ourselves, and turn our hearts toward Jesus, something changes. The room may look the same, but the atmosphere becomes different because our hearts are ready and postured correctly. He responds to hunger, humility, and honor. Even the prophet Daniel trembled in the presence of an angel because heaven’s reality overwhelmed him. If a messenger carries that weight, how much more the presence of God Himself?
Today, remember this: God’s presence is not common. It is sacred. And when we treat Him as holy, we discover how near He truly is.
Today's Prayer
Jesus, forgive us for the times we have treated Your presence casually. Cleanse our hearts from distraction, indifference, and irreverence. Fill us with Your Spirit and fire and teach us to honor You in worship, prayer, and daily life. Help us to be aware of Your presence wherever we are. Let our lives become a place where You are welcomed and adored. In Your name, Jesus, Amen

How can we give Jesus greater honor and attention today—in private and in public? Today, with His help, I choose to slow down, honor His presence, and give Him my full attention so my heart becomes a place where He is welcomed, treasured, and adored.
