Day 7: Beholding Him l 8.8.2026

That means no one can fully measure, explain, or contain the greatness of God. His glory has no limits. His wisdom has no boundaries. His majesty is beyond comparison. Yet even though we can never fully comprehend Him, we are invited to know Him more.

In Isaiah chapter 6, the prophet Isaiah was given a glimpse of heaven. He saw the Lord seated on His throne, high and lifted up. Around Him were mighty angels crying out, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!” They were not repeating words out of routine. They were responding to what they saw. Every fresh revelation of God’s greatness caused a fresh cry of awe. When Isaiah saw the holiness of God, he did not become proud or casual. He became deeply aware of who God is—and who he was in comparison. He cried, “Woe is me, for I am undone.”

This same response is seen throughout Scripture. Job encountered God and said, “Now my eyes have seen You.” Ezekiel fell face down. Abraham fell face down. John, when he saw the glorified Christ, fell at His feet as though dead. Why? Because when people truly behold God, Holy reverence rises. All of us are tested and tried with all sorts of distractions. Our attention is captured by celebrity gifting, success stories, headlines, social media, accomplishments, and endless noise. But all those things can dull our vision of what matters most. The greatest invitation of our lives is not to admire the world—it is to behold Jesus.

Second Corinthians 4:6 says that the light of the knowledge of God’s glory is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. When we quiet our thoughts, open our hearts to His Voice, and focus on Him, something changes inside us. We gain peace. We gain wisdom. We gain perspective. We begin to look more like Him. Second Corinthians 3:18 promises that as we behold the Lord, we are transformed into His image from glory to glory.

So today, we must ask ourselves: What are we giving our attention to? What are we becoming like? The world around us shapes everything it captures. We must take charge of our free will and shut out the noise. Sit quietly. Tune our inner ear to His Spirit’s presence; His still, small voice is inviting us to behold Him. Agree with His leading and worship Him by engaging with Him. Think on His greatness. We must allow our hearts to behold Him again.
