The Old Testament is full of ‘Types and Shadows’, even metaphors that apply to our life in Christ. The Children of Israel coming out of Egypt and going into the ‘Promised Land’ is an example of what our life in Christ will look like…
- God chooses them first
- Provides a sacrifice that keeps them from the judgment of death: PASSOVER
- Says FOLLOW me (Moses) out of Egypt through the water (slavery to death/sin/enemy’s kingdom): BAPTISM
- PROVIDER: Manna & Qual (bread & meat) [grumble-grumble]
- PROVIDER: water from a Rock [grumble-grumble]
- Meet with me and I’ll reveal myself to you; show you HOW TO SEE
- BAM: Life & Death – Choosing to FOLLOW God or the Golden Calf
- TIME TO GO TO THE PROMISED LAND: Cleanse yourself-push out everyone unclean
- BAM: Life & Death – Complaining ‘I need other food then what God Provides’ Quail & Fire
Before we can have Sustained Victory that allows us to possess the land, we must see Him as Jireh
