Day 14: Eternal Decisions l 8.15.2026

Aug 15, 2026

Today's Scripture

2 Corinthians 5:10–11 (NKJV)

Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)

What we build for ourselves will fade, but what we build for Jesus will last forever.

This life feels long when we are in it, but compared to eternity, it is a vapor. What seems permanent now is temporary. What feels urgent now, just may not matter forever. That is why holy fear teaches us to live with eternity in view.

What we do with the Cross determines where we spend eternity. But how we live as believers determines how we live in the forever. Paul said we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Our repented sins are washed by the blood of Jesus, but our works, motives, obedience, and assignments will be examined.

Scripture says we are builders. Every day, we are building with something. Some build with gold, silver, and precious stones—obedience, love, truth, sacrifice, and kingdom purpose. Others build with wood, hay, and straw—selfish ambition, image, comfort, and temporary gain. The fire will reveal what lasts.

Holy fear keeps us from wasting our lives on what cannot survive eternity. It awakens us to our assignments. It reminds us that missed obedience, delayed surrender, and how we use our time matter. God has prepared good works for us to walk in. Not just talk about. Not just admire, but to walk in.

Today's Prayer

Jesus, forgive us for giving our focus, energy, and time to things that do not last. Teach us to build for Your kingdom every day. Awaken holy fear in us so we live with eternity in view. Empower us to impact people with truth, love, and obedience. In Your name, Jesus, Amen.

Today's Activation

Today, ask the Holy Spirit: “What eternal opportunity have I been overlooking?” Then listen and follow the Holy Spirit in building someone’s life with truth, love, encouragement, or obedience. Decide to look for and engage in eternal opportunities, not merely the ones that perish with this life.
