Today's Scripture
Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV)
Colossians 3:2 (NKJV)
Whatever holds our deepest attention shapes our peace, so a life awed by and centered on God is guarded by His presence.
Every person is consumed by something. For many, it is success, image, comfort, fear, desire, control, or even their own spiritual experience. But God never created us to revolve around ourselves. He created us to be centered on Him. To be obsessed with God does not mean acting religious or constantly using spiritual language. It means His presence becomes the deepest awareness of our lives. Like a child who naturally depends on a loving parent, we learn to live with continual awareness of God’s nearness, leadership, and care.
When God becomes the center of our thinking and identity, everything else begins to lose its control. Fear, anxiety, pressure, offense, and worry no longer dominate in the same way because His presence has become greater than the chaos around us. That is why Jesus spoke so strongly about worry. Worry reveals that our focus has shifted from the God who surrounds us to the problems in front of us. When awareness of His presence fades, fear rushes in to fill the space.
A life centered on God becomes spiritually guarded. Peace is no longer dependent on circumstances. It flows from abiding in Him. God does not promise a life without hardship, but He does promise His presence, covering, and peace in the middle of it all.
True security is not found in control, comfort, or approval. It is found in being hidden in God.
Today's Prayer
Jesus, draw our hearts back to You as the center of our lives. Free us from being consumed by fear, image, worry, or control. Teach us to live aware of Your presence and anchored in Your peace. Let our minds be stayed on You and our lives hidden in You. In Your name, Jesus, Amen.
