The glory of God is revealed in Christ Jesus, and as we behold, listen, and follow Him through His Spirit, the world loses its grip on our hearts, and His image is formed in us.
The glory of God is not just something we study—it is Someone we encounter. His name is Jesus, and His glory is revealed through His promised baptism of the Spirit and fire. On the Day of Pentecost, the room was not filled with religious emotion; it was filled with the sound, presence, power, and fire of Spirit and Truth. Jesus was revealing His glory through His Spirit, not just around His people, but within His people.
Scripture describes God’s glory as radiant light, consuming fire, unapproachable majesty, and overwhelming goodness. When Moses asked God, “Show me Your glory,” God answered by revealing His goodness. That means God’s glory is the full revelation of who He is—His holiness, love, mercy, power, wisdom, authority, and beauty.
And here is the wonder: the God whose glory outshines the sun chooses to live in us by His Spirit. We may not see Him face to face yet, but He empowers us through His Spirit to love Him, trust Him, and follow Him.
As we behold Him, we are changed into His image from glory to glory. The more clearly, we see Jesus, the more the fears, distractions, and pressures of this world lose their influence in our lives. The more our awe of Him and His Lordship develops, the more His likeness is revealed in us.
Today's Prayer
Jesus, open our hearts to Your glory. Fill us with holy reverence, wonder, awe, and love. Help us host your presence without distraction from other voices or influences. Let Your greatness become more real to us than the world around us and transform us as we behold You. In Your name, Jesus, Amen.
Today's Activation
The glory of God is everything that makes Jesus Who He is—and as we behold Him, His Spirit transforms us into His image. Today, I choose to behold Jesus, host His Spirit with holy awe, and allow His glory to transform my heart, my focus, and my life into His image.
