Fix Your Eyes On Jesus

Fix Your Eyes On Jesus

Speaker: Pastor Chuck Maher

Date: 05 July 2020

Numbers 13:1-3, 17-21, 25-33, 14:1-9 (NKJV)

Coming into 2020 there were so many prophets and prophetic voices speaking into not just the year 2020 but also the next ten years; as we were coming into a brand new decade. And, one of the recurring themes had to do with a fresh move of God, an awakening, the church moving in power and many, many people coming into the Kingdom of God.

And, you could feel it stirring,  you could feel the expectancy. And, then just a few months into 2020 the year turned into the most bizarre and strange year that probably many of us have ever experienced.

(COVID-19, a fresh awareness of racial injustice, rioting, more COVID and now a dust from an African dessert that is causing it to be overcast??)

And, with all this I know that the enemy would love for us to become discouraged and shrink back. And, I believe that, like the 12 spies, we have to decide – are we going to focus on the giants that are in the land, or are we going to be like Caleb and say, “let us go up at once, for we are well able to overcome it!”.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (TPT)

The difference between those who thrive in difficulty and those who shrink back is whether or not they fix their eyes on Jesus or fix their eyes on what’s happening around them.

We see this when Peter saw Jesus walking on water!

Matthew 14:22-32 (TPT)

Matthew 14:22-32 The Passion Translation (TPT)

Numbers 13: “Be of good courage”.

Matthew 14: “Be brave and don’t be afraid. I am here”.

Revelation 1: “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last”.

The Lord wants to fill us with strength and courage as we gaze upon Him!
