Part 1: Living Your Best Thought Life
Living Your Best Thought Life
Date: 24 April 2022
Speaker: Sherene Wine
Isn’t God’s design amazing? The human body and mind are the most complex thing on the planet. Scientists cannot replicate the complexity and they cannot fully understand the human mind.
Some facts about the mind/brain
- There are about 100 billion neurons in the human brain (this is the appr the same number of stars in the galaxy
- The slowest speed that information travels between these billions of neurons is 260 mph.
- The energy used by the brain is enough to light a 25-watt bulb
- The average number of thoughts that humans are believed to experience each day is 70,000
Proverbs 23:7 (ASV)
Philippians 4:8 (NASV)
Romans 12:2 (NLT)
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NLT)
How do you take a thought captive?
So, imagine your mind as computer screen. Every thought is typed out as a potential command. But if you type something onto a computer screen, there’s something really important you must do in order for that command to be executed……. You must hit enter!
Your thought life is actually where Satan does all his work.
- His biggest weapon is you.
- His most clever strategy is to disguise himself as you.
- His battlefield is your mind.
Now Remember this logical pathway for thoughts:
- Thoughts become words
- Words become actions
- Actions become habits
- Habits become how you live (destiny)
What does God say about me? What does he say about you?
2 Corinthians 3:5 (KJV)
Ephesians 2:10 (KJV)
Ephesians 2:13 (NASB)
1 Peter 2:9 (NASB)
Identity affirming exercise:
- I am strong (Psalm 29:11 The Lord gives strength to his people)
- I am loved (John 3:16 For God so loved….you)
- I have value (1 Peter 1:19 I was bought with a price)
- I am beautiful (Psalms 139:14)
