34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
36 Simon Peter asked him, “Lord, where are you going?”
Jesus spent 3.5 years with the disciple’s building relationship and developing them, how many times did He give them a command? He spoke quite a bit in ways that if we recognized who He was and what authority He has, we would certainly receive as a command. But this time He is very clear about this being a command, a NEW command.
