Safety

    Medication Protocols:

Students who take medication must bring only what is needed for the duration of the event in a clear bag. All medications must be documented during the bag-check at check-in. Students will be responsible for carrying and administering their own medication.

If a student needs help with their medication, our Medical Support designee can help administer it with parent consent. Our Medical Support designee, has experience in the medical field and will be available to assist with any basic first aid or health and safety concerns. Please note that they are not a licensed medical professional, but will work closely with conference nurse(s) and other qualified personnel to ensure the well-being of all participants.

    Discipline

Our stu.Life Department prioritizes creating a safe and respectful environment for all participants. Any violation of our conduct policies will be dealt with swiftly and firmly. Our zero-tolerance policy ensures that appropriate action is taken to maintain the integrity of the group. The following steps will be taken in the event of a conduct violation:

    Strike 1:

    • The student will be engaged in a discussion with a leader to address the violation.
    • For the remainder of the event, the student will be paired with a designated leader for supervision and guidance.

    Strike 2:

    • Repeated violations or severe misconduct may result in further consequences, including expulsion from the conference without refund.
    • A call will be made to the parent/guardian of the student to inform them of the violation.
    • The parent/guardian will be required to come to the conference location to pick up the student immediately.

We appreciate your cooperation in upholding our conduct standards to ensure a positive experience for all participants.

    Check-in

Don't drop and run...YOU are part of the check-in process and can't leave until your student's luggage has been checked! When you arrive at New Life check-in location, you and your student will:

      Step 1:

      • Check in at the “Check-In Station" for your student to receive their item tags for luggage.
      • Confirm all medical and medication information is correct and ask any question at the “Medical/Additional Information Station."
      • Finalization transportation permission forms.

      Step 2:

Proceed to the “Bag Check Station", where bags will be checked by safety teams. We will also ask that students remove any pocket items to ensure no weapons or paraphernalia are being brought to the conference.

      Step 3:

Give your youth a hug and wave goodbye as they get in the van!

      Room Assignments

The Airbnb room assignments will be made prior to arrival at the Airbnb. Boys and girls will be separated and have designated bathrooms.

Room checks will take place every night by Leaders. If you would like your student to turn in their phone at night, be sure to let a Leader know. The Leader will take the phone during the room check and return it to the student the next morning.

We’re so grateful for every parent who trusts us with their student—this is a privilege and responsibility we don’t take lightly. Whether it’s at a small group or conference, our number one priority is always the safety of our kids.

As we prepare for this year's conference, some of our rooming policies have changed. Please understand every decision was made with the safety of our students and the leaders who serve them in the forefront of our minds.

Every leader and adult volunteer attending this conference will be background checked.

Here’s what you can do, as the parent, to set your student up for a safe conference experience:

We understand sharing a room/bed with another person can be awkward, which is why we will try to pair students by known friendships, family relationships, and similar personalities.

        Why will we have two-to-a-bed?

While one of our goals is to make the conference unforgettable, we also strive to keep this event affordable. We never want a financial limitation to keep a teenager from experiencing a moment with God or the fun of conferece. With this in mind, we will be placing up to two students in a bed, which means a queen bed will be shared by two people. If we were to book rooms so that every person had their own bed, the price of the conference would nearly double, making the event unaffordable for many of the students we’re trying to reach.

If you or your student aren’t comfortable with the shared bed setup, you’re welcome to attend this event, either as volunteer or leader, and you can room together.

If you have questions or concerns regarding accommodations, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our stu.Life Department Leader. Our team wants to lead with clarity, so we’re happy to provide more context around any of these changes.

Thank you so much again for trusting us with your student and partnering with us in developing the NOW generation of leaders.
