Jesus has a specific, Spirit Word for you, and He will confirm it through two or three others.
But receiving His Spirit Word is only the beginning. Kingdom benefits—including peace, joy, healing, deliverance, relational health, and fulfillment—flow as we yield ourselves to listen to Jesus and follow His direction.
Think of a musician listening for the progression of a song. The musician does not force a separate melody, rush ahead, or insist on playing every note according to personal preference. Instead, they listen closely, recognize the movement, and add their gifting at the right time and in the right way by following the conductor’s lead.
My biological father demonstrated this kind of attentive listening through music. He could play by ear, recognize the progression, and contribute his gift without breaking the melody. His example reminds me of the spiritual posture Jesus desires from us: listen carefully, recognize where He is leading, and faithfully contribute what He has entrusted to you.
Jesus Christ is our Conductor. He is leading the song of His Kingdom, and each of us has a part to fulfill within His harmony. When we depend on Him, we learn when to move, when to wait, when to speak, when to serve, and when to remain still.
Personal opinions, preferences, thought processes, and self-reliance can pull us out of step with Him and His Christ nature. The desire to take charge may cause us to lead by our own ideas instead of following His voice by faith. Even good intentions can divide, hinder, or damage what He is doing when we refuse to listen for His direction.
His thoughts and ways are higher than ours. Relationship with Him requires us to release our assumptions and recognize our need for His wisdom. We need Him completely, yet in love, He chose to draw us into His Kingdom. Jesus gave His life so we could share in His work, His life, and His purposes.
Spiritual maturity grows through dependence on Jesus. As we listen, He teaches us to fulfill our assigned part with faithfulness and care. He develops His Christ nature in us as we respond to His direction in the needs and circumstances of life.
So, surrender your independence. Bring your opinions, preferences, and desire for control under Jesus’ leadership. Seek Him for clarity, healing, relational health, fulfillment, and peace. Then respond to what He shows you.
Accept the part He has assigned you. Wait on the His Spirit, your divine Conductor. Serve with the gifts He has given you, but remain attentive to His timing, rhythm, and progression. Your responsibility is not to control the entire arrangement. Your responsibility is to stay in harmony with the song Jesus is leading.
As you listen and follow Him, trust Him to supply your need, bring your miracle to pass, and carry you through the storm you are facing.
Ask yourself:
Where am I relying on my own opinions or preferences instead of listening for Jesus?
What might it look like to contribute my gifts while staying in step with Jesus? What part is Jesus asking me to fulfill in this season?
Jesus has spoken a specific Spirit Word from heaven over you. He will confirm it through two or three others. Stay attentive to His voice, follow His lead, and trust Him to bring every part of His purpose into harmony. He commands blessing from this spiritual posture.
