The Truth About Our Gifting

by | Mar 14, 2026

When we live surrendered to the Lord as His sons and daughters, the gifts He has placed within us become a blessing. They serve His purpose, strengthen His people, and bring glory to His name. But when we operate outside of surrender—when our identity as sons and daughters is not yielded to Him—those same gifts become offensive, drawing attention to ourselves rather than to Christ.

Our surrender as sons and daughters is inseparably connected to the unity of the brethren, (Psalms 133). True unity is not built on personalities, positions, or gifting—it flows from hearts that are fully yielded to the Lord. From that place of unity, Scripture tells us that God commands the blessing.

This leads to an important question: What is the blessing that God commands

Numbers 6:23–27 (NLT) “Tell Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with this special blessing:

  • May the Lord bless you and protect you.
  • May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.
  • May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace. “Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in my name, I myself will bless them.”

Key Truth:

The blessing is not merely material provision or outward success. The blessing is the Lord Himself—His protection, His favor, His grace, and His peace resting upon His people. He is the Lord! When sons and daughters walk in surrender and unity to His Lordship, God places His name upon them and releases His presence among them.
