Holiness, our willingness to be separated to and for God is revealed through surrendered worship that gives birth to true intercession, while hardness toward God is exposed when we reduce prayer to emotion, routine, or personal agenda. As declared in Isaiah 59:16, God Himself marvels when there is no true intercessor—no one willing to rise into alignment with His heart and mind.

Worship and intercession are inseparable. Without worship, there can be no true intercession, because intercession requires that we lay down our will and take on the mind of Christ. It is not presenting our desires to God but surrendering to His—until His burden becomes our burden, and His perspective becomes our own.

Hardness begins when we lose sight of who God is. When we question His ways, rely on our understanding, or attempt to dictate outcomes, we step out of worship and into pride. In that place, prayer becomes speech without surrender, and our hearts grow rigid—not only toward God, but toward others. What we become toward God, we will become toward people. Our relationships suffer and experience separation.

Holiness, however, is sustained through surrender. Surrender is the attitude that keeps us joined to God—where His voice leads, His authority governs, and His “say so” alone defines truth. We are separated to Him for His pleasure. It is in this place that we love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, holding nothing back.

A holy fear of the Lord is essential. It guards our intimacy, aligns our identity, and positions us as true friends of God—those who do not just believe in Him, but walk with Him, hear Him, and represent Him.

If there is a lack of true intercession, the answer is not criticism—it is consecration. Become the one who worships. Become the one who surrenders. Become the one who carries the heart of God. Keep your flesh nature surrendered.

For holiness draws us into union with Jesus… but hardness separates us from His voice, His heart, and His purpose.
